HTML is the basic language for creating web pages. Now it is used by itself mostly for sorting text in web pages, while CSS is used for the visual design.

It is simple and easy to learn. There are many visual programs for creating HTML pages without the need of writing the codes.

Interesting Facts:

Your Net Browser(Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc) is the parser which turns HTML code into visible content on your display. It's the same with CSS and Javascript and this causes differences in the way pages look when using different browsers.

HTML limitations

HTML has many limitations, which is why it is very rarely used for sorting and design of web pages today, where it has been replaced by CSS.

It is not an interactive language, meaning that it cannot change it's contents without the use of an additional language such as JavaScript or PHP.

Learning HTML

Would you like to create your own web pages? Then you might be interesting in learning HTML because it's an essential part, and basic understanding of it is strongly recommended. Creating pages with HTML is quite easy, and can even be done in Notepad.
