Free Online FPS Game Smoking Guns Download and Review

Smoking Guns is completely freeware Multiplayer 3D FPS for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, which offers playing by either Internet or LAN. The game is old west themed, and is based on the Quake 3 Engine.

Creating Games:

You can create a game for either Lan or Internet, you can set the map you like, you can turn on AI bots so that you don't have to play alone until someone joins, or to increase the number of players.

Joining Games:

There is usually a decently large list of already running, joinable servers on the internet in the game.

Weapons:

There are various old west weapons like Colt pistols, Winchester rifles, Shotguns, Machine guns, Grenades, etc. which you can purchase once inside of a running game. While playing, you get points which you can use for buying additional weapons in the same game.

Graphics(2/10):

Neither modern or visually challenging(as expected from the Quake 3 engine), however nicely put together and once you get used to it, you will not mind at all.

Gameplay(5/10):

Is quite simple, really. It's arcade style, which enables you the ability to have fun without worrying too much about tactics.

Summary - Rating(6/10):

This game gets a 6 because even though it's old and not as exciting as modern, visually stunning games are, it's completely free and it has some fun and easy to learn gameplay. Definitely worth a try.
