What is Driving Speed 2?

At the first look, you see an older, fully professional looking game. You might even wonder how this game is freeware. Well, i'm glad to be the one to bring you the news that the game is freeware and available for download. That being said, i can start writing about the actual game.

Driving speed 2 is a completely free semi-realistic car racing game featuring 2 tracks and 4 cars.

This game even supports lan gameplay, which means you can compete against your friends, for me, this was the most fun feature of the game. Other than that, you can also play Single Player mode by yourself, trying to set a record which you can later upload to the internet and rank against other players, or you can turn AI bots on which have 3 difficulty levels, easy, normal, and hard.

Controls

The game can be controlled by the keyboard or a Joypad/Steering Wheel, all with configurable key settings. You can play this game with the default keyboard as it doesn't require a joypad for the full experience(basically it's not that realistic)

Realism

The game is semi-realistic which means that it has some realism in it, but it can still be described as an arcade racing game. If you're a Need For Speed fan or just like to have fun racing, don't care about the littlest details, then this game is the right game for you.

In-game handling: Not the fastest car, but quite stable.

2. SR-1

In-game handling: Fastest accelerating car, also quite stable. Not too fast. Probably the best car in the game.

3. GT Red

In-game handling: Mid-range car. Very high maximum speed but bad acceleration, not too much power, and not too easy to handle.

In-game handling: Highest top speed, fairly bad acceleration, not too easy to handle either. An advanced version of GT Red.

Tracks

1.Adelaide

Length: 3.2 km / 2.0 miles

It is the first track in Driving Speed 2. It is also my personal favorite. It seems to be easier than the second track, and the AI is also a bit easier on this track. Perfect track for setting records or multiplayer competing.

2.Bathurst

Length: 6.2 km / 3.8 miles

Seems more like a racing track than the first one, while the first one goes through city, this one goes through sometimes short roads, has more curves and is a more difficult track to drive. Also, the AI seems much harder on this track. The perfect track for more advanced players, good for challenges.
