Learning Programming - Freeware Basic Languages/Compilers

Learning programming can be fun, but also useful to develop logical thinking. You do not need to spend any money on programming Languages/Compilers.

In this article, we are going to discuss some free basic programming languages and compilers that i have used, most of which are well supported and there are plenty of tutorials for.

I strongly recommend you start programming with one of these.

I have been a Just Basic user for a while and it has helped me learn how to create small Windows Applications.

JB has a really good support on the forums, and for any question you ask, you will get a response by experienced JB programmers. I have personally asked many "how to make this in JB" type of questions and never been disappointed with the answers. They will also help you and fix your codes if you ask them nicely.

I have put Just Basic in the first place because it is one of the easiest programming languages to start with.

It futures quite simple basic syntax, a Visual GUI Editor with which you can easily add buttons and forms visually, and you can also get redistributable .exe files from your JB projects. You can give the .exe files to your friends, or even sell them if you like.

Is one of the Basic languages that i have tried, and it futures quite a lot.

It is best for Game Programming as it has 3D Support(Open GL) and 2D Sprite support. It has a lot more features and so it is not as easy to learn as Just Basic, but it is a great start, especially if you are interested in creating games.
